If you wish to copy music or other contents from your iPhone to a computer, then you have to figure out how to use iTunes first, which sounds easier than it actually is. With TouchCopy, transferring files from an iOS device to a computer can be done without any kind of difficulties. It gives you access to all songs, pictures, apps and other contents stored on your device and it allows you to copy them right away, with a single click.

TouchCopy is free to try with some limitations. It is available for Windows and Mac OS X and it can be installed quickly, without making any complex configurations. The software doesn't ask for powerful hardware and you can use it with any iOS-powered device.

If an iPhone, iPad or iPod is connected to your computer, TouchCopy will detect it automatically. The device's contents are neatly categorized in separate sections, which can be accessed via navigation tabs, on the left side of the user interface. Obviously, the program will give you access to different categories, depending on what device you connect. For example, if you connect an iPhone, you will be able to access its contained music, apps, calendar entries, call logs, contacts, messages and much more.

Besides viewing all audio files on your device, you can also find your ringtones and playlists. Furthermore, the software allows you to filter your music, by genre, artist and album. You can play any song in your audio library, on the application's interface, and click different options to back up selected files or to send them to a local folder or the iTunes library.

Options for copying or backing up files are available in other sections as well. In certain cases, you will only find options for copying. Besides reviewing your media files and apps, the software allows you to explore your device's folders structure. Because iTunes doesn't show such contents, you can't find options for copying miscellaneous files to iTunes, but you can still send them to a local folder on your computer.

A feature that is definitely worth mentioning is TouchCopy's ability to prevent iTunes from re-synchronizing with your device. As a result, if your iTunes library is deleted or corrupted, you can restore it right away with TouchCopy.

Pros

You can access any contents on your iOS device. The software allows you to back up your music, apps and so on without any difficulties. It is also possible to copy a device's contents to a local folder or directly to iTunes.

Cons

The software may take some time to load a device's contents when you access certain sections for the first time. If you have difficulties getting along with iTunes, you can copy your music, apps and any other contents to a computer much faster and easier with TouchCopy.
